The ark of Fjellheisen

2016 / Acrylic on canvas / 30 x 40 cm

The ark of Fjellheisen was stuck in a rock. And cable cars as a messengers in a flash take off to the summit of mountain. On the top it's seen how a road by bridges as if holding hands connects the city on the island, surrounded by mountain fangs on all sides.

Restaurant on the border

Autumn has a special range of colors. The artist's palette is all around us: deep dark green spots of pines, birches of rust color, stunning trembling asps of stontium yellow, purple and carrot-coloured mountain ash with heavy bunches of berries this year. Glittering cowberry shrub, white-green moss, fuzzy cade with touches of milky-blue, glowing scarlet dogberries and dark red leaves of curly fireweed are on the ground. The sand is like ocher, the stones are of shades of gray and as if blushing on their “cheeks”, layers of a cliff look like a zebra.

Cloudy Kjerringøy

2016 / Acrylic on canvas / 30 x 40 cm

It's cloudy today, but we have become accustomed. Without mountains on the horizon, this historic site reminds us a landscapes of middle of Russia on the shore of a large lake, connected with roads rivers. The life which was here three hundred years ago also reminds us of Russian history: noble life, manners, French, music, and philanthropy..

Autumn in reflection

2016 / Acrylic on canvas / 30 x 40 cm

Norway extends along the coast not only geographically: colorful houses stand far away from each other just like mushrooms that can be seen in between the trees. The road zigzags between the cliffs, meandering down by the coast. The traffic strip is yellow as birches are; we can see an upside-down blurry reflection of clouds, cliffs, boats, multicolored trees in the water. Swans float on the lake, dark gannets nestle on the stones, there are many seagulls in the ebb tide, sea eagles hover in the sky. It comes to no surprise to be fascinated by ornithology in that area.

Steaming mountains

2016 / Acrylic on canvas / 30 x 40 cm

If you describe the nature of Northern Norway in one word - it's a rock. Rock which is entwined by ribbon of roads. Rock which peak is catching the clouds. Rock where melting glacier flows down as a waterfall right in the turquoise sea.

Autumn on the border

2016 / Acrylic on canvas / 30 x 40 cm

250 kilometers passed by and industrial landscape is softening by cozy Norwegian houses that have windows opening onto a peculiar scenery, that is changing with light just like the paintings of impressionists do. The roots of the tree covered by a green plaid of moss got swollen like veins and radiate as a star from the trunk in every direction. Pine trees holding on to the cracks of the cliff seem to enjoy life, catching the light from lake Neytiyarvi. The lake unites the two countries in a certain way, having both customs on its banks.

Artist's Courtyard

2014 / Acrylic on vinyl / 40 x 40 cm

In the morning you can see sunshine on wet leaves in the yard. This night we spent in the artist's house, talking until late at night... You can hear the sound of the waterfall when you're in the yard. After breakfast we went toward the sound of falling water. We are walking along a path together with red Utah resembling a fox. The dog has found a squirrel on the tree and has been barking for a long time. We are walking along narrow paths among pine trees covered with moss. The basis of the old wooden HPP is to the left of the waterfall. We're moving along a sandy cliff. There is a slope further. At the edge the pine trees have already leaned. Their roots look like tentacles. There is a huge boulder above the cliff. It will fall down in few years. Sand is a bad basis even for such a big stone.

Boats on the shore

2014 / Acrylic on vinyl / 40 x 40 cm

One never wants to leave a cozy place. Here you can go on painting again and again... There are boats against "Shanghai" that is a number of fisherman's houses behind the fence. These houses look as if they were made of various things brought by the sea - rusty iron, wooden boards in peeling paint which color is far too hard to guess...

Inner Lake

2014 / Acrylic on vinyl / 40 x 40 cm

Pine trees against the sunset. The ring of the inner lake. An arbor with blown away staircase. Pirenga coast. Stones and snags in the foreground, and the background changes colors inspiration from. On can stroll along the coast picking flat stones up and throwing them to the lake to leave ripples in the water. Or one can go further and find gray snags on the beach that remind of a broken boomerang, flamingo or Moses' Rod.

On the top of the hill

2014 / Acrylic on vinyl / 40 x 40 cm

Impressions cannot always be pictured - they stay within us like our little secrets under a piece of glass, and if we ever start recollecting these memories, we will have to simply brush grains of sand off this grass to see ourselves inside - small people strolling around the coast.
